Nolan X-Lite 901 Helmet Review

Before wearing this helmet, I must admit I’d never heard of Nolan helmets. If you’re like most American Sportbike riders you’re wearing Shoei , AGV, and even Arai. I was a little reluctant at first, but it was too neat of a helmet not to try.

The X-901 features top ventilation and even chin ventilation to keep your bodies biggest heat escaping member cool. The X-901 contains a patented Integrated Ventilation System inside the helmet that increases the aerodynamic performance. It has two front ram air intakes allowing the forced air to cool the head and with all this it keeps the noise level down.

The visor is one of the coolest I’ve ever seen. The visor has a slightly open position that enhances the ventilation, in case of misting inside of the helmet. (Great for traffic) The visor also becomes part of the shell. When closing it actually sucks itself back into the shell making it even more aerodynamic making it one of the most perfectly closed helmet to date. It’s so cool, they patented it. The visor also has a quick removal system for visor replacement.

The interior is removable for washing and the cheek pads can be changed for a more comfortable fit. I did feel that the chinstrap could of used a button to secure it from flapping around and slapping my neck on occasion.

One of the best things I’ve noticed is the price! The Nolan X-901 I found on the Internet for $293.95 which is over $200 dollars cheaper and whilst providing more features than some of the competition. The Nolan X-901 met all my expectations and provided everything I look for in a helmet style, comfort, and most of all safety.
