ATV-Themed Gift Ideas for 2021

If you’re like me and have kids running around the house, then toys are still a very important part of the holiday season and Christmas. I have two sons and know I can find something ATV related they all would enjoy, though I think my daughter would rather have something else.

Real ATVs are not toys, so this list will NOT include them. However, even if it does include some ride-on quads (some leg-powered and others battery-powered), you should still be a responsible parent and look after your children. This list includes some grown-up toys as well as stuff for the little ones.

1. Honda Rumblin’ ATV Ride On With Lights and Sound

I like this ride-on toy because it’s available at your local Target (or at least online). It’s also nice because it’s rated for kids 1 year and up who weigh 65 pounds or less. The rear handlebar means Little Johnny can walk behind it and push it around if he’s bored. If he wants to ride it, he can sit on the rumbling seat, rev the handlebar and work the light-up scoop and dashboard. The little quad measures 13 inches long by 15.5 inches high by 24 inches wide by 13 deep and weighs just 12 pounds. Three AA batteries power it.

2. New-Ray Toys Camo Pick-up w/ATV or Jon Boat Set

While I understand Batman and GI Joe are probably more popular – and can perhaps be found with an ATV, too – spring for this realistic toy. This thing has it all, including a hunting-ready ATV and a Camo truck. Besides, aren’t you your son’s hero more than some caped crusader? Though one has to wonder why the deer included in the kit are a doe and her fawn. What the buck?

Check the age rating, but probably 3 and up and price varies for this and other similar New-Ray Toys kits.

3. TONKA MOD MACHINES System DX5 ATV Vehicle

I like this toy because it lets your little one custom their machine for their liking using the integrated tools. They can build a monster quad or convert the machine into a wild snow machine hybrid with the included skis and tracks. The set includes a vehicle body, four wheels, two skis, two tracks, interchangeable roll bar and Tonka tool accessories. It’s for ages 4 and up and retails for around $10.

4. New Bright Toys Polaris Ranger RZR

This toy side-by-side from New Bright Toys is a 1:14 scale Polaris Ranger RZR. This RC ATV is for ages 8 and up. The RZR is powered by one 9.6-volt (machine) and 2AA batteries (transmitter). It features both forward and reverse as well as turning in either direction. A 9.6v rechargeable battery pack and charging unit are included.

5. e-Moto EM70SX Electric Off Road Power Board

The e-Moto EM70SX Electric Off Road Power Board ($600) is basically a four-wheeled, all-terrain, electric skateboard. Your kid (or you) can use a hand-held wireless device to control both the speed (up to 20 mph by 800W of power) and ABS electronic braking. This board rides on inflatable, 8.5-inch rubber off-road tires.e-Moto 70SZ electric ATV board.

The marketing material says you can ride in the grass or virtually anywhere. The 36-volt electric motor has a maximum range of 15 1/2 miles. The EM70SX can climb slopes up to 12 degrees. The deck, which measures 19″W x 10″H x 46″D, is made from maple plywood and has a load capacity of 250 pounds. It weighs 68.5 pounds. The lead-acid battery has a estimated charge life of 250 to 300 charges and should recharge in four to six hours.

6. Lego Technic 8262 Quad Bike

Sadly, the Quad Bike is not available in the US, so you’re going to have to find another way to get it to your mailbox. This Lego Technic features a fully-independent four-wheel suspension, working front-wheel steering and pistons that move as it rolls. It also includes instructions for rebuilding it into a rugged dune buggy, though who would ever want that?! It measures 9 inches long by 4 inches tall.

7. Spy Gear Spy Video TRAKR

The Spy Gear Video TRAKR, features a tracked system over its four wheels. You could also opt for the Video ATV 360, another tracked spy vehicle from Spy Gear.

I like the TRAKR for a few reasons. The first is what kid doesn’t like to spy or at least pretend to be a secret agent. Secondly, it’s an R/C vehicle – duh! Finally, this ages 8+ toy, can not only record and store pictures and video and report those back to a hand-held control, but it can also upload the images and video to a computer. Your iMovies just got more interesting.

Consider this: According to Amazon.com, “TRAKR is loaded with a night vision app for performing video surveillance in the dark. Additionally, a preprogrammed mapping app lets you send your TRAKR on a predetermined path. TRAKR is also loaded with a cyborg vision app, which lets you monitor your suspects using a speedometer, a spy compass and crosshairs.”

The TRAKR includes a USB cable, downloading applications and is compatible with Mac (OSX), Windows (XP, Vista, Windows 7) and Linux computers. It’s powered by 10 – yes 10! – AA batteries. Price starts around $85. And may I suggest a “no spying on dad” rule.

8. Nail’d Video Game

This is a must-have addition to anyone with a gamer 0- specifically a motorhead – in the family. The official says, “Nail’d, the world’s fastest off-road arcade racer, utilizes insane track design and unparalleled levels of speed to create a racing experience that delivers pure arcade fun.”

You can choose between bikes and quads. Nail’d was just released and works on a PC, Xbox 360 or PS3. This rad game features online multiplayer mode for up to 12 people and lets you build custom quads and tracks. Static X, Hatebreed, Deftones, Fear Factory and more highlight the game’s original soundtrack. You can compete on 14 tracks in 4 locations (Andes, Greece, Arizona, Yosemite).

9. Kettler Kettquad

Made in Germany, the Kettquad is a beefed-up quadcycle that looks like a pedal-powered KTM. The manufacturer, Kettler, says “Due to the pneumatic tires with lug tread, the integrated reverse gear, and the high-quality disk brake, the KETTQUAD offer the greatest in driving pleasure, together with the utmost safety.”

The frame is made of high-quality steel tubing with a scratch-resistant polyester coating. The seat no-tools adjustment. The Kettquad also has a freewheel function (back-pedaling), no-shift reverse and a working parking brake.

Its ergonomically shaped handles improve young riders’ comfort. The chain-driven ATV includes a chain tensioner, pneumatic off-road tires and sporty hubs. Weighing roughly 76 pounds, the Kettquad measures 12.6 inches by 35 inches by 28.7 inches. It’s recommended for kids aged 5 to 12. Price is estimated between $800 and $1,000.

10. Battery Powered Ride-ons

Clearly, No. 1 on this list was a ride-on ATV, but it was leg powered not battery powered. When it comes to these models, you really have to choose what you want for your kid and let them decide. I found replicas of Yamahas, Suzuki, Polaris, John Deere, Kawasaki and others from a host of makers, including Peg Prego and Fisher-Price. The latter is the most popular because it owns the Power Wheels brand and line of ride-on ATVs.

I personally like the look of the sport quads, the Yamaha Raptor 700R, Kawasaki KFX700 and Polaris Outlaw, but there are plenty of others to choose from, in 6-, 12- and 24-volt options.

11. Hot Wheels Sand Stinger ATV

This model has been around since 2003 and I recently picked up another one for my collection – I know, I’m a dork – but my son has a few of his own Hot Wheels ATVs, too. Here’s the coolest thing about these mini cars…they’re cheap and fun for kids and adults.

12. Risk Racing Holeshot Race Gate

This isn’t really a toy, but older kids and teens will get more enjoyment out of the Holeshot Race Gate than they will a stocking full of candy. The gate works with both bikes and quads and basically lets you practice your motocross starts with the push of a button. However, the Holeshot features a random timed, electronic wireless design.

This means the rider can practice his or her starts before racing on the weekends. You mount the wireless remote somewhere on the handlebars (bar pad), press the button and then the computer does the rest of the work, dropping the gate.

Risk Racing says, “After the remote button is pressed a green LED will illuminate on the gate. This lets the rider know the gate has recieved the signal and gives the rider 2 seconds to get his or her hands back on the bars. The LED will then turn red and start blinking. When it starts blinking it is like the 30 second board turning sideways. Get ready becuase the gate will now drop randomly between 1-5 seconds, just like an AMA Pro National!” It retails for $279.
